What Happens When You Hate Your Website…

website

There are some days that I absolutely hate my site…

In fact, there have been several times during the past couple of months that I could barely even stand to look at my site let alone work on it.

There would be days that I would literally drag myself to my computer only to groan and moan while daydreaming about other things I could be doing besides working on my site.

Even after feeling this for myself, I know that I am not alone. This is something that happens to nearly every blogger and website owner out there and I can guarantee that eventually you will go through this phase as well.

So, the question is, what do you do when this happens?

The Repercussions of Hating Your Site or Blog

The last thing that I want you to do is lecture you on why you should not hate working on your site or blog. Let’s not pretend that this is not something that affects every blogger and website owner.

Instead I want to educate you on how dangerous this behavior can affect your online business.

See, the problem with hating your website or blog is that it can negatively affect your work and your business, especially if you are working for yourself. It can even affect the quality of work you put into your sites. The longer you feel this way towards your site or blog, the more it will affect you.

What To Do When You Hate Your Site or Blog

In order to begin working on getting over this hate that you have for your site or blog, you first need to discover the root cause of your hate. Some of the most common reasons that many people hate their sites or blogs include:

Working Too Many Unproductive Hours A Day

Most of the when you are working online, if you are the type of person that ends up trapping themselves into long working hours or working later into the night, this can lead to hating your site or blog. Most of the time it is just due to you procrastinating online by watching YouTube videos or playing pointless games.

As harmless as this may seem at first it can cause resentment in the end.

You Are Not Getting Enough Results

Trust me, I know how frustrating it can be when you have worked so hard on your site or blog only to end up with seeing no results in areas such as no comments, no email subscribers or even no increased rankings in Google. If this has been happening to you for so long, this also can cause bitter resentment for your blog or site.

Failing Conversions

Obviously, the most important conversion for most website owners and bloggers is the final conversion. If you are not getting that final conversion, you will not earn the money you want and thus can become hugely annoying for you.

Other Problems in Your Life

I was guilty of this myself and ended up blaming my blog for many things that was going on in my liufe like not having enough time for my family, not making enough with my sites or that I was focusing more on my sites and blogs more so than anything else. This too can happen to you and can too cause some resentment.

Of course there are possibly thousands of other reasons out there why you may hate working on your site or blog, the most important thing is to narrow down the reason for yourself.

Once you have that reason figured out, the next step is to begin changing your attitude. There are many ways to do this such as:

  1. Do Something A Little Different

If you have been working hard on your sites and have yet to see any results, then I highly recommend that you try something a little different to enhance your results and work towards getting those small wins like an increase in email subscribers, an increase in site visitors or even a comment on one of your blogs.

Change up what you do for your site. This is where creating videos to marketing your site can come in handy. Not only is it fun to do, but it is a great way to give your visitors added value when they visit your site.

  1. Change The Location Where You Work

While I know this may seem silly, trust me. Changing the place that you work can have a huge impact on how productive you are during the day. I highly recommend changing rooms to work or even going to a local café to get some work done. This can be highly motivating for some people.

  1. Suck It Up

Now, I know many people out there think that running their own successful online business is easy. The truth is, it isn’t. Running your own online business is especially stressful and there are going to be a lt of times where you will fail. But, unless you strive to work your normal 9 to 5 job then I suggest you suck it up and push through the hard times. This will pay off in the end.

  1. Get Some Help With Stuff You Aren’t Skilled In

If you are the type of person who doesn’t do well with normal businessy stuff like bookkeeping, coding or editing blog posts, I highly recommend that you get someone to help you out. This will help you focus on the more important things: working on your site or blog and filling it with quality content.

Of course there are just as many solutions to helping you get over the hatred of your site or blog.

However, one of the main reasons why many people hate their blog or site is for one reason only and I know many people will agree with me here:

You may hate your blog because you don’t know what you are doing with it!

If this applies to you, don’t feel bad.

I know there is a ton of confusion out there about different blogging strategies and tactics that you can use to make money online. However, those most important tactics that you need to know about include email marketing, developing your own products, writing quality content and giving your site much needed value.

Once you learn those important tactics, your blog or site will become the most favorite thing in the world for you like it is for me 🙂
